Reflections on Product Launch & Updates!

Hi everyone,
Now that things have finally died down we wanted to send out another update to reflect on the project, and to thank our supporters for helping us bring Fluora to life.
The last couple of weeks have been very surreal for us- it’s crazy to have this product we’ve been working on for 2 years finally out in the wild. We shipped out product to almost 500 customers, and finally got to see people enjoying Fluora in their home. We had a couple minor mishaps, but overall everyone has absolutely been loving the product and the experience it provides in their homes.

We’ve seen some big press coverage in the Wall Street Journal and TechHive.
And we’ve seen so many of you post about Fluora on instagram, or send us a kind note saying how much you love the product, and thank us. We love all of our customer videos, so if you’d like to share, DM or tag us @fluoraplant on instagram, or send them to [email protected].
It’s been amazing so far, and we’re only just getting started. We saw so many product orders come in during the first half of April that we are now completely sold out of Fluora units from our first production run. So, we’ve started taking pre-orders for our second run, which will ship in October 2022. We’re also working on our second product, which we’ll announce soon :)

Here are a couple minor issues some customers have had, and updates related to them:
- Customers with Mesh WiFi routers have been unable to connect to Fluora with their mobile apps. We just pushed an update that should fix this for iOS. We are still working on the fix for Android devices. If you did have a problem connecting to Fluora (iPhone only) with your mobile app with a mesh network, you should be able to update your app and re-connect to your Fluora and control it. Reach out to us if your problem is still not solved!
- Our Android app was down on Monday and Tuesday of this week, but is now back up. If your app is not working or crashing, please update it again and it should work.
- Some folks on older android phones have been having problems using the circular pattern knobs on the control screen. We’ve also pushed an update that should make these more usable!
- There was also a problem with Rainbow Swirl stopping animation with certain settings, this has been fixed in the latest update.
- We’ve had some customers have issues with audio reactive content- if you have an audio reactive pattern selected and music playing and don’t see anything happening, make sure the “gain” knob is turned up! Sometimes, a full plant restart (off and then on again with the power switch in the frame) is needed.
- Don’t forget to put the moss provided inside the pot on top of the frame! It will tie together the natural look of Fluora. A couple customers have been missing a bag of moss from their shipments - please let us know if you did not receive one.
- We’ve had some problems with power cables vibrating out of power supplies during shipping. Here is a video with a fix for that.

Fluora Shipping Update 4/11

Hi everyone,
Sending out another update to address some questions and problems people have been having.
SHIPPING/TRACKING NUMBERS:
- I know some of you have asked and still not received a tracking number - this is because we still have not been able to obtain all of the tracking numbers from UPS. Because of a limit they place on the total number of shipments you are able to see per day, we are unable to see all the shipments we have sent out and their corresponding tracking numbers. We still do not have data for some entries in the A-J range. We should be able to pull 95% of entries from the K-Z range (first name on shipment) We’re working directly with them to get them but things are happening very slow. Our apologies for this, we are trying to fix it as fast as possible.
- Some people are not getting all off their boxes on the same day. This is natural - even though we shipped people's units out in packages together, they have been separated during UPS processing and one may arrive later than the others. If this has happened to you, and you don’t have tracking numbers yet, reach out.
Please remember, There are 2-3 boxes for each Fluora:
- Heavy Square Box: Ceramic Pot
- Long Rectangular Box: Stems and LED Leaves
- Smaller Rectangular Box: Wooden Plant Stand (OPTIONAL ADD ON)
ASSEMBLY MANUAL:
- There have been a couple reports of people not receiving a Fluora Assembly Manual with their product. A PDF of Manual can be found on our website here.
TROUBLESHOOTING AND PROBLEMS:
- If you are having electrical problems (stems or leaves not turning on), or networking problems (Can’t see Fluora WiFi, or put it on your home WiFi, etc.) please refer to the troubleshooting section in the manual, and this troubleshooting video).
- If you can't see the Fluora WiFi network upon turning the plant on, please perform a network reset and then turn the plant off and back on again.
- There have been a couple reports of people’s Fluora units being dead on arrival, and not powering on. After investigating this problem, we have found out that the power cable inside the pot is vibrating out of the pot during shipping for a small number of units. If this has happened to you, please email us at [email protected] and we will send a short instructional video that shows how to fix it.

All Units have Shipped!

Hi everyone,
We just sent out the rest of the Fluora shipments!! We're exhausted but so so excited for everyone to get their plants.
If your first name starts with LI-Z, you can expect your Fluora to show up within the next 5-7 days.
We also managed to get all of the Canadian shipments out!
Unfortunately, due to a miscommunication with UPS and our batch shipping labels and files, you will not be receiving an email with your tracking number. I’m working on getting all tracking numbers today - if you would like me to send you a tracking number for your shipment, please email [email protected] with your name and address.
This means:
- If you’re in San Francisco, your Fluora should get delivered tomorrow or Monday (1 Day)
- If you’re in LA, your Fluora should be delivered next Tuesday (2 days)
- If you’re in Chicago, your Fluora should be delivered next Wednesday (3 Days)
- If you’re in Florida or Pennsylvania, your Fluora should arrive next Thursday (4 Days)
- If you’re in Maine, your Fluora should arrive next Friday (5 days)
PLEASE read the last update thoroughly for more information.
We will send out a more proper thank you after sometime this weekend :)
Fluora Shipping Update 4/7 - We've Shipped Half of the units!

Hi everyone!
We shipped out the first half of our Fluora units yesterday (to over 250 customers, about 700 boxes total). We shipped by alphabetical order of first name.
We have shipped out units for people who’s first name starts with AA through LI, and live in the USA. If you are in that range, you can expect your Fluora to arrive in the next 5-7 days.
Unfortunately, due to a miscommunication with UPS and our batch shipping labels and files, you will not be receiving an email with your tracking number. I’m working on getting all tracking numbers today - if you would like me to send you a tracking number for your shipment, please email [email protected] with your name and address.
Please be aware we are slammed preparing to ship the rest of the units out tomorrow afternoon, so I may not get back to you until Friday night or Saturday.
Based on UPS Ground shipping coming from Oakland, you can expect to see ground shipping times based on the map below. Make the assumption that the shipment was processed yesterday (Wednesday, 4/6/22) , and that weekends do not count as days. Some bigger cities do Saturday delivery.
This means:
- If you’re in San Francisco, your Fluora should get delivered today (1 Day)
- If you’re in LA, your Fluora should be delivered tomorrow (2 days)
- If you’re in Chicago, your Fluora should be delivered Saturday or next Monday (3 Days)
- If you’re in Florida or Pennsylvania, your Fluora should arrive next Tuesday (4 Days)
- If you’re in Maine, your Fluora should arrive next Wednesday (5 days)
We did not ship any units out to Canada yet- hoping to on Friday or next week.
Please do not email me if your first name starts with LI - Z. We are aiming to get those orders out tomorrow afternoon.

A couple more notes for when you are setting up your Fluora:
- Please look at the manual (inside the pot box) to help with setup.
- If you are stuck, refer to the manual or video setup instructions on our website
- Remember to (gently) bend the stems! It makes your Fluora look much better and more natural. Here's a video of how to bend them
- The Fluora mobile app is your friend. Download for iOS here and Android here. Use it to dial in content you love! Here's an overview of the app, and a live demo of control.
- If you have problems and have looked in the troubleshooting section of the manual, and watch the troubleshooting videos on our website, and still need help, please email us.
- Remember to tag us on social media if you post anything content with your plant! We are @fluoraplant on instagram, tiktok, facebook. We are @fluoraart on twitter.
- Be sure to tune the "Gain" knob when using audio reactive patterns. This is controlling the sensitivity of the microphone picking up the music that is playing.

We're finally shipping! And other important info

Hi everyone. We come to you with some amazing news! We’ve fixed and tested our final software system and everything is stable! We’re excited to announce we’ve started to ship finished Fluora plants out, and will continue to do so over the next 2 weeks.
You’ll receive an email from UPS with the tracking number when your Fluora goes out, so be on the lookout for that.
If your address has changed in the last 2 months please email us to confirm we have the updated address: [email protected]
Please do not email us in the next 2 weeks asking when your Fluora is going to ship. We will be sending them out in batches via UPS. If you receive an email from UPS, please use the tracking number in that email to track your shipment.
More important information:
There are 2-3 boxes in the shipment, depending on whether you bought the optional wooden stand:
- Heavy Square Box: Ceramic Pot
- Long Rectangular Box: Stems and LED Leaves
- Smaller Rectangular Box: Wooden Plant Stand (OPTIONAL)
If you have not bought a wooden plant stand and still want to buy one, they are available for purchase on our website.
All of your boxes should arrive at once. There is a printed instruction manual in the Ceramic Pot Box - that should have all the info you need to get started. We also have video setup instructions up on our website here.
You can control your Fluora 2 ways, either with the mobile app (downloadable for both iOS and Android) or with the “function” button on the frame. The function button will only allow you to perform simple tasks, whereas the mobile app will give you full control over Fluora’s display, and allow you to schedule when it turns on and off. To connect to Fluora via the mobile app, you will need to put the Fluora on your home WiFi network. We highly recommend connecting Fluora to your network, this will allow us to push updates to the plant and help us troubleshoot if anything were to go wrong.
Fluora has 2 modes, automatic and manual. By default it is in automatic mode, and will cycle through animations on its own. In Manual mode, you can curate animations and looks to your hearts desire!
Please read through the instruction manual so you can understand all of the fun features your Fluora has!
I've also attached the product spec sheet at the bottom of this post for your reference.
If you have problems setting Fluora up, please refer to the instruction manual and video instructions before emailing us.
