February Fluora Update!

Hi there, February update incoming!
Development for Fluora is going swimmingly! We’re kicking off tooling for the Fluora Leaf on March 1st, and going through our final design reviews for the leaf in the next week.
We’re also getting the very first prototypes of the Fluora PCB/Motherboard made this week, and are looking forward to testing them out.
The engineering of the electrical system is nearing completion, we’re in the process of ordering and testing first articles of all of the internal components.
Packaging and package design work has started too, which has been exciting because it’s the last thing to happen before Fluora units get shipped to all of our backers!
All of this is leading to our Engineering Validation Test Build in April, where we’ll use all of our finalized suppliers and tools to make the very first Fluora plants. Once we’ve built these and validated them, we can start production for all of our Kickstarter backers :)
Fulfillment info will be coming in the next couple weeks.
Don’t forget, we’re still selling Fluora plants on our Indiegogo InDemand Campaign in case you or any friends want to pick up another Fluora!
That’s it for now, until next time!

January Update!

Hi Backers! Its time for our second Post-Kickstarter update!
Product development is moving along according to schedule, and our team is really excited about the progress we’ve made in the last month.
Our leaf design is nearly finished, and we’ve made the decision to add connectors to each individual leaf, so leaves that fail can be easily swapped out.
Embedded Software development is also coming together, our engineers are working on the ability to update Fluora remotely through our mobile app. This way, we’ll be able to add new features and content just with the click of a button.
We’re finalizing plans to add a microphone at the base of the pot for music reactive content, and have also added a foot on/off switch outside the plant for an easy alternative to turning Fluora on without your phone.
We’re also building out our Supply Chain in China. One difficult challenge to work around is that we are not sure if we’ll be able to fly over there during our early production build. We are currently making plans to have local resources perform quality assurance and control in the case that our core team isn’t able to enter China due to COVID-19.
Lastly, we’ll be sending out more info about fulfillment later this month, so be on the lookout for that!
Thank you again for your support, and stay safe out there!

The Saga Continues...

Hello! Hope everyone is having a great holiday season :)
The Fluora team has been hard at work this last month since our Kickstarter ended. Some of the main things we’ve been working on are finalizing designing our leaves and stems for manufacture, building the software and firmware that will live inside the plant, and mobile app design & development.
After our Kickstarter presale ended, Indiegogo reached out to us and gave us a special offer to join their InDemand program, and continue our presale on their website. So, we’re happy to announce that you can still pre-order Fluora today for $499 on Indiegogo!
Another exciting announcement we wanted to make is that we’ve officially launched our Fluora commercial offering. This is a premium Fluora offering for deployments in bars, restaurants, commercial or retail spaces. This offering also includes premium content & scheduling tools, free experiential design consultations, and on demand support. Drop us a note at [email protected] today to learn more!
We also wanted to make an announcement about some fake and scam Fluora plants entering the market. Since we started advertising the product on Facebook and instagram, we've had a couple companies rip off media, photos, and videos from our Fluora website, facebook ads, and Presale page, and start advertising it on Facebook as their own content and selling a fake or knockoff version as a scam. These companies are even calling their fake products “Fluora”.
We get multiple messages a day from people asking if these fraud sites are real, and some messages from people who have already bought it and not received anything. Some of these fraud sites & facebook pages are called: UMIUM, Bighomez, Expendb, and Myleaflight. Please do NOT buy Fluora from these vendors, or anywhere else but on our website & Indiegogo page. We are doing our best to work with Facebook and get the ads for the fake Fluora plants taken down.
Thanks for tuning in, we'll see ya in 2021.
Thats a Wrap!!

We are so incredibly thrilled and grateful to have successfully completed the Fluora Kickstarter. I'd like to thank every single person that has helped bring Fluora to the world and made this campaign a huge success.
It's now time to bring Fluora to life! Our team is now heads down in Product Development and Design for Manufacture. We’re finalizing up our stem and leaf designs for production, so we can lock them down and start final tooling. We are going to be focusing on this for the next couple months before we start to think about fulfillment.
Backers can expect a detailed monthly update on how things are going, which we will post here and also email directly to you.
You can also follow our journey on our instagram @fluoraplant. We’ll be posting more images and video of Fluora there, and will be showing off some of the functionality and integrations we are developing. We’ll also be updating our website! Please continue to share Fluora with your friends and colleagues :)
Finally, we’ve had a couple other scam websites steal our media, pictures, and video, and start to advertise our product for a cheaper price. These advertisements are completely fake- so please don’t give them your money! A couple examples here, here, and here.
The only Fluora ads you will see will come directly from our social accounts, and only legitimate place we are selling Fluora will be listed on our website.
Thanks, and enjoy your holiday season!

Hi everyone!
We're thrilled by the overwhelming response to Fluora being launched publicly, and this campaign. Thank you all so much for supporting us and our dream of bringing immersive lighting into the home.
The Fluora team has been working tirelessly to make this product a reality, and its been an incredible experience to see so many people connect with the product and our vision for the future of home lighting. We can't wait to ship out the first set of Fluora plants to our backers and have them experience the feeling of having a Fluora plant in their space.
We've had a couple questions that have been asked by a lot of Fluora fans, and wanted to take the time to answer them! These answers will also be posted in the FAQ section of our campaign.
First- some people think that the main product video, pictures and GIFs on the product page are renders. We're here to tell you that all of the imagery on the product page are 100% real product pictures and video. We had people ask to see a video of someone controlling the Fluora plant live in a space, and are happy to share one. Check out our co-founder Jake demo-ing mobile app control of a Fluora plant below!
Next, we've received a lot of questions surrounding Fluora integrating with other Smart Home Ecosystems and Smart lights.
We're happy to tell you that Fluora will integrate with the large home automation ecosystems (Google Assistant, Alexa, HomeAssist, etc.) and have it work with all of the big smart lights (LiFX, Philips Hue, C by GE, etc.). We will try and ship the first batch of products out with these feature, but will give ourselves the ability to remotely update the software on Fluora plants if these integrations are not done by the time we ship the first batch.
Finally, we've had a lot of questions about Fluora's price. Some people are wondering why Fluora is expensive, for a smart light. Here's why:
Our main goal with Fluora is to create a compelling and magical product that has the ability to change the feel of an indoor space.
We looked at trying to make it as cheap as possible, or shrinking the product down, but ultimately did not want to compromise on quality, size, and light produced on our very first product. It was really important for the plant have a very premium feel, look realistic, and enough light throw from the LEDs to change the feel of a medium to large sized room.
In addition, we wanted to put a computer inside the product that was powerful enough to drive a 3D LED engine, do live audio processing for music reactivity, and take in other interesting inputs that would lead to dynamic integrations with other apps and products.
So basically: premium materials, overall size, processing power, and number of LEDs all contribute to Fluora’s higher price tag.
Thanks for tuning in, we've had an incredible first week, now lets keep the momentum going! Please help spread the word and share our campaign with your friends & family.
